Anniversary + Valentines Day weekend

Our anniversary was Friday the 13th of Feb (lucky, right?). It's been two years together! Holy cow. It's kind of hard to believe. Let me get you people of the world caught up really quick: we moved into a new apartment together in January. I love it. We rarely ever fight and believe it or not, Trevor has been cleaning the apartment AND doing laundry! ;) How did I get so lucky?

Anyways, back to our anniversary weekend!

Every anniversary, Trev and I take a trip to the American Ale House. It is a little more expensive, but the food is amazing, so we like to treat ourselves. We always get the fried calamari for an appetizer, and this time we both got New York Strips for dinner. These things were deeeelicious.
Also, the mac and cheese at this place is out of this world. It is made from goat's milk which makes it taste extra creamy.

I think the thing I like the most about the Ale House is the ambience it portrays. It is dimly lit, there are candles on the tables, and light music playing in the background. Sometimes a man will play a piano and you can eat dinner around the piano, which is pretty cool. Trevor took me to the Ale House the night he first asked me out! :) How could I not say yes? ;)

For Valentine's day, we decided to cook our own meal from scratch to eat it at home to beat the crowds. We made a delicious creamy spinach cheese tortellini.
Here's the recipe. If you are looking for a very hearty, creamy, delicious meal, then I would definitely encourage you to try it! We loved it so much we made it twice. It is extra good if you eat it with a side of toasted ciabatta bread and butter.

There was a snowstorm that night so we relaxed the rest of the evening watching movies. It was a great way to spend Valentine's day! I'm super blessed to have this guy of mine.

Other news, Janelle mailed me this cute card:
We are forever sushi buddies! Which reminds me that it's been WAY too long since i've had it.

Grandma also mailed me a mug that is shaped like a cat, which feeds into my cat obsession even more, and some Dove chocolates. That woman always knows the way to my heart.

So blessed with great friends, family, and Trev.
