Trev's birthday was on Friday and I think I was more excited for it than he was. I love special occasions and spoiling people. My future kids are going to be in trouble!
He's on a night shift schedule, so he slept most of the morning. I went shopping in the morning, Target, TJ Maxx, etc. I decided to pick up our favorite pizza (Front Street) for lunch and surprise him with it. We had pizza for lunch, then for dinner I made one of our favorite dishes: Creamy Spinach Tomato Tortellini. Seriously, we love this Pinterest recipe so much that this was the third time I've made it for him. Once we added scallops to it which was delicious. We always eat it with baked ciabatta bread too which just tops it off.
For dinner I decided to try my hand at making a chocolate cake from scratch. I think baking is so much fun! It's the cleaning up part I don't like so much. My preceptor from work who is also an amazing cook gave me a peanut butter icing recipe, so everything was home made! And finally I was able to use my nifty cake stand ;)
For his present, I got him two tickets to go to the US Golf Open next June. Trev got me into professional golf and I could probably name off a majority of the players, so I'm pretty excited to go to this too.
