We left El Paso airport around 10am and said goodbye to the desert!
Our first layover was in Dallas.
Our second layover was in Philly. Our plane ride was only 3.5 hours from Dallas to Philly.
We hopped on a tiny plane at the Philly airport and then were off to State College.
It was so nice to see my mom and brother waiting for us when we landed!
We came home and it was great to be back in our house. Trevor's friend Alex is currently living in it and watching kitty for us. It was amazing to be sleeping in our brand new king sized bed again, because right now in New Mexico we are crammed on a rock hard mattress that is only full sized.
On Thursday we ran around running some errands. Elaina and I had a girls evening and got mani/pedis together!
Friday and Saturday I spent up at the lodge where Emily and Dalton were getting married! It was so much fun hanging out with the girls on Friday, helping Emily set up and decorate. Then the wedding was perfect. It was a little hot, but we had so much fun. Emily looked gorgeous! I am so so happy for her and Dalton.
On Sunday, we went over to my Grandma's house for my Great Grandma's 95th birthday dinner. ONLY, when they brought me out into the kitchen, they had a cake that said "Happy Birthday Hilary". They tricked me into thinking the dinner was for my Great Grandma Anna, but it really was for me! They had gifts and everything. I was so surprised, because my birthday wasn't until the end of the month, but it was so nice and thoughtful :)
Sunday night Trevor and I went over to his parents house and had dinner with them + Clint and Chels.
Monday morning I drove to visit my friend Tara, who just had a baby. Annabelle Madison Buttlar. She is absolutely perfect and I loved spending the afternoon with them!
Monday night I had dinner at Champs with my dear friends Lindsay and Bridget. We all met from working on Labor and Delivery at UPMC Altoona and became fast friends! :)
Tuesday night we went over and spent time at Brian and Janelle's house! They just got a dalmatian puppy that is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
And then Wednesday we had breakfast at Trevor's parents house and his dad drove us back to the airport. We didn't want to leave.
We boarded our tiny plane and went back to Philly, then to Phoenix, and then FINALLY (after a delayed flight and a missed connection) we were back in El Paso.
You don't realize how much you love home until you are gone. Going home made me not want to leave again.. and now i'm pretty homesick.
We were supposed to only be here in New Mexico until mid November, but we are extending our contract until mid December. That makes it hard, because that adds another 5 weeks that we will be away from home. But we figure that it will be a lot nicer to take a couple weeks off at the end of December to be home for the holidays.
Counting down the days until we are home again!
But at least Timber was happy to see us come back!
