Ode to the Jeep

Let me preface this by saying that I am an extremely sentimental person.

We sold our Jeep. And I may have cried over it.

Back in 2016 we had decided to pursue travel nursing. Only problem? Trevor drove a tiny Fiat and we knew we wouldn't be able to pack all of our stuff in that thing. We had decided to buy a Jeep Wrangler on the premise that it would be our "travel vehicle" and that we were going to pay it off as soon as possible. Trevor literally sat down on the Jeep website and custom built that thing.

The Jeep arrived and it was beautiful. We set off on an adventure across the country in our brand new Jeep. We drove it through Nashville, to Arkansas, down to Waco, Texas, to New Mexico, to the Grand Canyon, to Colorado, and back home. Then we took several trips up to Boston and explored the New England states in it.

At the Grand Canyon, we rented a campsite and slept overnight in the back of the Jeep. We folded down the seats and Trevor, Timber, and I all huddled together. It was uncomfortable and freezing, but it's one of my favorite memories.

We had a dual top for it as well. A hard top for the winter and a soft top for the summer. We loved driving around on warm days with the top down.

Anyways... flash forward to now. We have a baby. We aren't traveling anymore. And Trevor just got a new job where his commute is 40 minutes long one way. He didn't drive the Jeep anymore and I was the one that was driving it. It was a manual and it was just annoying to drive as a mom. Load the baby up, drive the manual around town, etc. It wasn't ideal for me even though I loved it. Plus, we still owed $14,000 on it. The selling point for us was when we figured out that we could sell it and buy a car for cash. No more car payments!

We sold our beloved Jeep and bought a 2017 Chevy Cruze for cash. We are one step closer to becoming debt free finally after 3+ years of paying off debt.

Someday we may get another Jeep Wrangler. But it's goodbye for now. Now please excuse me while I go cry some more ugly tears. And if you want to buy our Jeep it should be for sale on www.stuckeyautomotive.com any day now ;-)
