October 2019

October honestly was so much fun for us. I look back and we really did a lot. Hudson turned 6 months that month and I think we've honestly found our sweet spot.. 6+ months has been so much fun! He finally seems like a real person now, meaning that when I talk to him he responds, and he really interacts with the world around him. It's been fun to take him new places and see what he thinks. 

October started out super warm. We went on a walk with Kiara and Audrie. She is 3 months younger than Hud.

All summer I wanted to do the milk bath photos with Hudson but he wasn't old enough to sit up on his own in the tub yet. I took advantage of the very last warm day in October and snapped these pictures.

He wasn't a big fan of the cold tub against his back and started bawling about 2 seconds after I took those pics.

We finally bought a high chair and Hud started solids this month! It honestly has been so much fun giving him new foods!

The first month of him eating he had trouble picking food up. We did a lot of purees in the beginning, but now we've transitioned to solid foods and I just cut up whatever we are eating into food that he can pick up and safely eat.

The middle of October we celebrated Trevor's 28th birthday and also his new job! He finally is off night shift after 5+ years and he also got a significant pay raise.

Mickey, Chelsey, and I went to the Girls Night Out here in Altoona. It's a night of dinner, auctions, wine, and other fun activities to benefit the Breast Cancer foundation. Mickey and I have gone the past 3 years and this year Chels joined in too!

We went to another first birthday party:

We enjoyed the nicer weather while it lasted by hanging out in the back yard and going on walks.

^Trevor and I also had 10 new windows installed in our house this month which we were excited about. Our old windows were original to the house from the 60's and some were cracked. They were so inefficient that you couldn't even open them. These ones are already so much nicer! We love making little improvements to our home. Next summer I'm hoping to paint the entire exterior of our home and also add shutters and window boxes. 

^ Hud and I spent lots of time on this blanket in our backyard this summer. It's hard to believe (and kind of sad) that when the weather is nice enough for this again he will probably be running around the yard on his own.
