Spring Memories

The spring of 2017 was a weird one. We were living in Alexandria, Virginia and working night shift in Washington DC. We lived in an apartment complex in a tiny one bedroom apartment where I had to get on an elevator to take Timber outside to the bathroom. My Great Grandma and my Pap had just passed away within a week of each other and I was mourning the loss of both of them.

Timber and I took a lot of walks that spring into Old Town, Alexandria. Old Town is absolutely beautiful with brick and colorful homes lining the streets. There's small boutiques and local restaurants everywhere. It was a very dog friendly town, with water bowls sitting on the sidewalks for them to drink and dog parks everywhere. A lot of dogs were welcomed in stores and restaurants as well. Timber and I had a blast walking through the streets, shopping, and meeting new people. There was a dog park right along the Potomac River by our apartment that Timber loved not only because of all the other dogs but also because he could swim.

I remember one particular day when the cherry blossom trees were blooming across the Potomac and all of the flowers were blooming too, Timber and I took a walk into Old Town. We walked for a long time that day and just admired how beautiful the town was and the soaked in the gorgeous weather. I was thinking about that day today, because it is warm here in PA. Some days I miss living in Alexandria so much that it makes me sick. I honestly would give anything to go back. It was one of those things that I truly didn't appreciate until we were gone. In spirit of reminiscing, I thought that I would share the photos I took that day during that walk with Tim.
