There's been a bunch of little things happening in my life lately that I want to document. April has been a pretty fun month!
Started off April with my friend Chelsey's birthday! Love this pic of us from the beach last year. She's engaged to Trev's twin brother, Clint.
I got together with my friend Kiara and we had lunch at Panera Bread. She is one of the very first friends I met when I moved to Altoona, and she even lived with me a bit last year, so it was great catching up with her.
I got a selfie stick and I think it's the coolest thing ever, but Trev hates me for it ;)
Trevor and I continue our healthy eating journey (52 days strong!) and we have discovered the wonderful spaghetti squash. We eat it with spaghetti sauce on top and it is so dang good. We end up buying one at the grocery store every week because we love it so much! Speaking of groceries, our routine is to go to the store around Midnight on Mondays or Tuesdays because that works out best for both of us. Plus it's always deserted which is nice!
Crabs were on sale one week so we treated ourselves to some! They were super good and a little teaser for summer coming up.
Kitty turns two years old this month! It's hard to believe my little companion (or my little shadow, more like it) has been in my life for almost two years now. Even though he can get annoying, I am in love with this cat. He's my little baby.
Trevor and I didn't get to spend Easter together (He worked 7am to 7pm and I worked 3pm to 11pm) but I came home to these sweet roses and a note after work. Not sure how I got such a sweetheart for a boyfriend, but I am so blessed.
I recently bought this chambray shirt and was laughing when I put it on before we went over to Trev's house and said, "I'm going to fit right in with your family in this outfit!" because Trev's dad always wears jean on jean. It was hilarious because as soon as we got there, John was in a matching outfit. So of course we had to get a pic!
It's baseball season! I went out with my friends to catch a game and hang out. It was freezing though!
I've taken my running to the roads! I've been running on the treadmill at the gym occasionally and feeling pretty good. I decided to run down a new road by my apartment and ended up running one of my fastest mile times I have in forever! It felt AMAZING. Usually i'm a 9-10 minute mile jogger, but I really was getting after it and ran it in less than 8 minutes. It felt so good.
And finally... I'm a blonde now? I went to my stylist (my friend Heather from high school) and she kinda morphed my entire head into this blonde bob. I am still getting used to it! She purposely colored it so my hair can grow out, and it will still look good in the months to come. Coming from a gal who has had dark brown to black hair my entire life, this is an adjustment. But i'm up to trying anything! I guess it's my new summer do.
Work wise, I am getting closer and closer to my one-year hire date. It's hard to believe that I have been a nurse for almost a year now, and it's even harder to believe how much information I have learned in just one short year. I am feeling more and more confident every day in my nursing skills and abilities. That being said, after a year, we are allowed to switch floors at the hospital. I can't wait to hopefully get a job on the Labor and Delivery floor, because that is really where my heart belongs. I just know that I am meant to be there, snuggling those babies and helping deliver them as well. I am praying that I can get a job there soon, because I can't wait to start! Trevor wants to pursue the ICU. Although I know I would just love the ICU as well, I know in my heart that I want to go to Maternity.
