july little things

July came and went so fast, I can't even remember what all I did! I already posted about what I did on the Fourth of July. This month was mostly filled with little adventures, working, finding out that I got a new job (!!), and running.

I've been back to the track! I'm trying to run regularly because I signed up for a Tough Mudder at the end of August! I've been exercising regularly since March, but I am still nervous about it! haha. I'm pretty sure it's going to be hard to finish, but i'm also relieved that Trev is doing it with me so he can help me along with the obstacles.

More pics from the 4th. Trevor and I had nothing to do that day so we decided to dress as obnoxiously as possible and just roll with it.

I had a random urge to play old school video games one day. I drove the whole way home and retrieved my Nintendo and my Playstation. Trev and I spent a couple weeks playing Super Mario Bros, Crash, and inviting friends over to play. We found an old Nintendo store in town that sells games and it is awesome.

In our town they have a local "Wing Off" every Thursday where people can go to listen to live music and try some wings from nearby restaurants. My friends and I went a couple Thursdays ago and had a lot of fun eating wings and listening to "Pistol Peg", who is a local band that covers country songs!

When I started nursing school, my very first friend that I made was Jaci. We just clicked instantly and she ended up getting me my job at Hoss's! We worked together and went to school together. Jaci got married a couple weeks ago and her wedding was beautiful.
Trev was nervous that he wouldn't have fun at the wedding because he wouldn't really know anyone. To our surprise, a guy he knew and his girlfriend were there too, and I ended up making some new friends and we all had a great time together. I even convinced Trevor to dance with me some, and we both had a blast ;)

I've been bugging Trevor to do the Powerline hike with me for months. I've already completed it twice with Janelle and with Uncle Doug and Carly, but I really wanted to go up with Trev too. The hike is a tough one... it is straight up a mountain! But the view at the top is to die for. I finally convinced him to do it and we got to see the sunset while hiking.

Trev and I had a Friday night off together a week ago so we decided to go out to dinner at the Knickerbocker because they have an outside patio you can eat on in the summer. We invited Clint and Chels to come eat with us and we just had a great time catching up. The patio is surrounded by brick buildings and twinkle lights, and it is the closest thing i'm going to get to hipsterville here in Altoona.

I can't believe it is now August. As much as I don't want summer to ever end, I am finding myself thinking about fall and how i'm excited to wear sweaters and boots again. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year! But... i'm going to be savoring every bit of summer up this month.
