Horseshoe Bend

Our next stop in Page, Arizona was Horseshoe Bend. Horseshoe Bend was created by the Colorado River and is the northern part of the Grand Canyon. It is one of those iconic places where you see photographs of it framed everywhere.

In order to get there, you have to hike about half a mile. The place was pretty packed when we went. You walk through the desert and then you literally just come up onto a cliff where it is. Let me tell you guys that I had no idea just HOW afraid of heights I am until I was standing on the edge of this cliff overlooking the bend. I couldn't get closer than about 10 feet to the edge because my knees were just shaking like crazy, haha.

Trevor took all of the close up photos of the canyon because I was too scared to get too close, haha, but I did take these pictures of him. And he almost gave me a heart attack when he climbed closer to the edge:

As we were walking back to the car, I googled "Have people ever died at Horseshoe Bend"? and YES people have fallen off that cliff before. So yeah. My fears were legitimate haha.

It was still such an amazing experience, and if you are ever in Northern Arizona, you really gotta check it out.
