Huntin' and Fishin'

I'm so happy it's summer, mainly because now Matt is home every day and I get to spend so much more time with him! It's been sad lately because i'd see him like once every two or three weeks because of college, and now it's back to the normal, Hilary and Matt hangin' out time :)

We decided to start the summer right with some good ol' Carp fishing!

We went down some back roads and hit up the crick. Matt knows all of the hot spots for fishing because he is one of the biggest hunters/fishers/trappers in the county, well at least it seems like it!
Well we arrived and got set up. As soon as we got there, I found a tick on my head, and I freaked out. Ticks just freak me out. So Matt let me wear his hat. :)

We set the poles out and just waited for the fish to bite. After a little bit, we hooked one! Matt let me reel it in while he tried to scoop it out of the water and onto the bank. This thing was humungo. Here's Matt with it:

This thing was HUGE. Matt wanted me to hold it and get a picture with it, but I've had some bad experience with fish like this. We went fishing a couple years ago for carp, Matt made me hold them, and this is what happened:
Yuck Yuck Yuck!

Overall, I had a great time with Matt. We got to sit down, listen to the radio, and just talk. We haven't got to really talk about anything much and it was great. I've really missed him!

The next morning he talked me into getting up at 5AM to go Turkey hunting! Okay, I only did it because he had no one else to go with. I like to hunt for deer, but I was never really interested in hunting turkey. So we literally chased gobbles around up and down the mountain for 4 hours straight. We climbed over the steepest rocks. The best part was when we were near the top of the mountain and we got to overlook the valley below. It was really pretty, I wish I would have brought my camera!

Okay, even though I got a crazy workout chasing those birds, I still had a pretty good time with Matt. I kinda slowed him down though and I felt bad. It sucks that guys can run/climp/jump about 20x better than girls, I'm jealous! But I think he understood. I love living in the country where we can have experiences like that.
