Our Honeymoon Part 2: A luau and some snorkeling!

Today i'm going to continue sharing recaps of our honeymoon with you! If you missed the first part, click here.

One of the things that I wanted to do while we were in Hawaii was to go to a luau. We went in the middle of the week and sat across from another couple that was celebrating their 3-year wedding anniversary, and another couple that was there on their babymoon. It was so sweet! They passed out some drinks made with rum and also had an open bar.

While we ate dinner which was authentic Hawaiian food, we listened to stories about the culture. It was so interesting to listen to some tales that were passed down for generations. We also got to watch hula dancers and fire twirlers. Trevor surprisingly even got up and danced with me during one of the songs, which was way out of his comfort zone ;-) We had a good time.

At the resort, one of our favorite things to do during the day was to hang out on the beach and our hotel actually had free snorkel equipment you could borrow. Trevor and I snorkeled every single day, because it was so amazing! Right beyond our little lagoon on the beach were coral reefs, so many colorful fish, and even sea turtles! Trevor and I got to snorkel right over a huge sea turtle that was eating from the bottom of the ocean. It was such a crazy experience and I think Trevor would say that it was one of his favorite parts of the week. How cool! Also, every evening several sea turtles would come up on the shore and sun bathe which was awesome to see. They are bigger than what you would guess!

We also watched a few amazing sunsets on the beach. Every night the sky was painted amazing colors!

Stay tuned for my final honeymoon post about our experience at Volcanoes National Park!
