a tribute to my class trip

Yes, I realized I've been posting obnoxiously lately, but there is so much I have to say and want to remember.

Tara and I have been talking about our class trip lately and how it has almost been a year since. I literally cannot understand that. It is NOT possible! I feel like it JUST happened. It made me realize how fast time does pass... and you can't do anything about it.

Since I didn't have a blog back then but I would like to remember it, I'm going to do a post :)

So, MY journey started out around 8:00pm. I went to Matt's house to help him get packed for the trip. Now, if anyone knows Matt well, they know that he is the BIGGEST procrastinator you could meet. He's worse than me. Well, we were supposed to be at the school at midnight to leave, and Matt didn't even START packing until a little after 11pm. Yeah, I was freaking out a little bit. Well, here is a picture of us that night:
Wow, he is such a goof!

May 29th, 2010 our group of 52 seniors set off on a 10-12 hour bus ride to Myrtle Beach, SC. We left around midnight, and arrived in Myrtle Beach around 2:00pm.
Here's the back of the bus, taken up by me and my girls! Check out how short my hair was! I kinda miss it!

As soon as we got to the hotel, we rushed into the bathrooms and changed and then headed down to the beach, even before we checked into our rooms! We had SO much fun swimming for hours on end with all of our classmates. I can't even describe how much fun we had wave hopping. Of course, we all rushed down to the beach without putting sunscreen on, so for the rest of the trip I think EVERYONE had a burnt and peeling nose.

That night we got all spiffied up in the hotel and were on our way to an Amusement park. This is us, right before we left! It was so hot down there at the end of May!
This is me and Matt at the Amusement park. And like I said, our faces were burnt to a crisp!

My friends and I getting ready to ride rides!

Me and Matt and our buddies Josh and Amanda decided to walk around a little together like a mini "double date". I love those two! Also, check out the amazing colors!
MY FAVORITE PART OF THE NIGHT: Riding the swings with literally all of my friends! All the guys and girls rode. I took this picture of my friends riding behind me. Look how funny all of their expressions are!!
Me and Britt in between riding sessions. It was sooo hot and humid that night! But we were having a blast.
Brooke and Tara looking from ahead. I'm telling you, our whole group was obsessed with these swings!
Here's a shot of Matt, in front of me.
The next day we woke up early and headed down for more beach time! Here are some of the girls that went on the trip. A lot of them are missing though, but this is mostly the group I hung out with.
 And some of the guys.

Me and Matt enjoying the beach!

Matt and his guys, goofing around like usual

For lunch we went out to eat at Planet Hollywood. I love that place!

3 years before that, Tara and me came to the same exact Planet Hollywood and ordered Strawberry Daiquiris. We made it a tradition and ordered them again!

Afterwards, Amanda and me sat and watched Matt and Josh play a huge game of Shuffle Board.
They played against one of our classmates and our teacher, Mr. Keim. He's so cool.

That night we went to the Dixie Stampede and then went shopping at Broadway at the Beach. Sadly, I don't have any pictures from those events.
The next morning we woke up early and went on a Saltwater Cruise. This was our "educational" part of the trip. We got to go out on the ocean and scrape the bottom, and pick up all sorts of creatures.
This thing was really cool! If you looked close, you could see the thing in the middle moving almost like it was breathing.
 Matt and his newest "friend"
The cruise was fun, but it was rainy and chilly, so we couldn't enjoy it the way we could have if it was sunny and warmer.

That whole day was a little rainy and cloudy. Most of us just chilled out in the hotels. A lot of people took naps, and some people went to the beach again. That night we had the choice to either go to the House of Blues, or to go to a gigantic Seafood Buffet. I chose to go to the seafood buffet, because I LOVE seafood!
Amanda and me right before we went out to eat.

This is the group that went to the seafood buffet. We had so much fun! And the food was really good. This is one of my favorite pictures I took on the trip because of the group picture, the amazing colors, and how everyone is laughing in this picture. I'm thinking about getting it printed onto a canvas.

After the seafood buffet we had free time at the hotel. Me, Matt, Josh, Amanda, and Andrea and Rusty went triple dating mini golfing across the street. Look at how dark Matt is! He tans so easily!

The next morning a small group of us got up early to walk on the beach for the last time before we headed back home to graduate.
Matt, Emily, Josh, Amanda, Matt, and me. We look tired? We were! This was 7 in the morning, and of course we stayed up till 3 the night before. :)
One of my favorite pictures. <3

I wrote a 2010 in the sand, went to take a picture of it, and then Matt popped up in the corner and yelled, SHARK TOOTH! He is such a goof ball!
There we go. :) Class of 2010!
The most exciting part of the trip? Our bus broke down, and we got stuck in a HOT HOT bus place for 4 hours! We got home 4 hours later than we were supposed to, and we were required to be in school the next morning for graduation practice. Oh well, it made a funny memory

Here is our broken down bus^.

So, in conclusion? My senior class trip ROCKED. I think back to last year and how I was so excited to graduate, but really, that was the most fun I've had. All of my friends were there. It couldn't have been more perfect. I miss it.

So I was just talking to my mom about time. I want to remember EVERYTHING about the trip. How do I preserve this? I printed out the pictures, I scrapbooked it, and now I'm blogging about it. But I want to remember exactly how I felt.

- Like how we all got to the school, the principal checked our bags, then we all piled into the bus, wearing shorts and tshirts. We HAD to sit with the same gender, but once we got down there we all sat with our boyfriends anyways.
-Like how on the way down, at about 3AM in the morning, the bus driver had the radio BLARING while we were trying to sleep. And TSwift's "Fifteen" came on, and all I wanted to do was belt the lyrics at the top of my lungs, but everyone was sleeping.
- The smell of the beach, the feeling in the air, how this was going to be our last time to do something together as a class. These people, who we've been with each other since kindergarten, now this was the final moment. We lived it up.
- Walking on the beach at night with our best friends, guys playing football in the sand, making jokes, staying up late with my roommates, swapping stories and gossip.
- That LAST morning before we left, my roommates and our guys all got up early and headed down to the beach for one last time. Then we went to our room and packed, talking about how we couldn't believe how fast the trip had gone and how much we loved each other.
- Getting on the bus on the way home and the AC didn't work. Trying to sleep, but waking up with sweat running down my back.
- Sitting at that bus shop for hours, talking about how we had school the next day, but bonding with all of my class mates.
- Finally getting back to the school, and realizing that we were graduating in a matter of days.

I'm getting chills as I'm writing all of this. I miss that. I miss that moment.

That's why I decided that right now is the prime time to follow my dreams and knock some things off my bucket list, before I have a husband and kids to take care of before myself, I need to do these things. Sorry for my rambling, I just can't wrap my mind around time!

Wow...this looks like one amazing trip!! I love that so many of y'all went. I wish that I had had a big senior trip like that. I just went with my two best friends.

You are SO right about the time thing. That's how I felt after my wedding. I was literally obsessed with remembering what it felt like. It makes me sad!
